An innovative and successful hardware engineering company specializing in IoT, Consumer Electronics/Hardware, and Health/Wellbeing industries is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer for an exciting contract role. The initial contract is for 3 months and is highly likely to be extended.
Contract Rate
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $100 to $200, depending on the candidate's skillset and experience. While on-site work in NYC is preferred, the company is open to fully remote candidates, provided they can easily travel to NYC.
Role Summary
The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer will serve as the Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert, responsible for the full design and development of Electronics Hardware, PCB Design, and Embedded Software/Firmware for the company's products and technologies.
Key Skills and Experience
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 8-10 years of industry experience.
- Product Lifecycle: Experienced in the full product design lifecycle.
- Electronics Design:
- Circuit Design (analog, digital, and power circuits).
- PCB Design & Schematic Capture.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer, Eagle, Fusion.
- Embedded Software:
- Embedded C, C++, and bare-metal development.
- Microcontrollers: STM32, ARM, PIC, ESP32, Arduino.
- Network Interfaces: SPI, I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, WI-FI, Bluetooth, ZigBee, LTE, RF.
- IDEs: STM32CubeIDE, MPLAB X, IAR Embedded Workbench, KEIL, or similar.
- Hardware Debugging:
- Experience with hardware debuggers and tools such as JTAG Debuggers, Segger J-Link, ST-Link.
- System Analysis: Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting electronic systems.
- Manufacturing: Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction), DFT (Design for Test), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFC (Design for Compliance).
- Leadership (Bonus): Previous experience in team leadership/management, coaching, and mentoring on-site and remote teams.
- Industry Experience: IoT, Consumer Electronics/Hardware, Health/Wellbeing.
