Job description

Position Overview

As a Tax Senior, you will play a key role in supporting client engagements, working closely with managers and partners while also helping guide and develop associates. This role offers a balance of tax compliance and planning, along with meaningful client interaction and exposure to a variety of industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with managers and partners to support the planning, execution, and delivery of client engagements
  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
  • Prepare and review quarterly tax estimates and projections
  • Research complex tax issues and document conclusions supported by relevant tax law and guidance
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and contribute to developing tax-efficient strategies for clients
  • Participate in client meetings, including discussions related to tax strategy and planning
  • Respond to notices and assist with audits and other inquiries from taxing authorities
  • Review work prepared by associates and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Support the development of junior team members through mentorship and day-to-day guidance
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Stay current on tax law changes and evaluate their impact on clients
  • Assist with international tax matters as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 3--5 years of relevant tax experience, including preparation of Forms 1040, 1120, and 1065, as well as state tax returns
  • CPA license or actively pursuing licensure

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to learning
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Taxation
  • Experience with a Big 4 or national accounting firm
  • Proficiency with UltraTax, Engagement Manager, Practice CS, Co Counsel, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
