Role Overview

Puffy is a top-5 U.S. mattress brand with over $1 billion in sales. As we scale our retail channel, we've created a new Retail Field & Acquisition Manager role to drive partner network growth---a hybrid field and inside sales position built around expansion.

You'll own both sides of the retail equation: activating existing partners and opening new doors across the U.S.

  • Own the Full Retail Cycle. Activate dormant accounts and open new doors. Prospect, pitch, and close new retail partners while keeping the existing fleet healthy. This dual mandate builds full-stack retail expertise.
  • Work with Strong Leadership. Join a Forbes Council Member CEO and a leadership team operating at high velocity. You'll have direct visibility into how strategic decisions get made at a billion-dollar brand.
  • Work Remotely with Purpose-Driven Travel. Work from anywhere in the U.S. Field visits, prospecting trips, and trade shows are company-funded and tied to clear business objectives---not arbitrary travel quotas.
  • Clear, Objective Compensation. No subjective manager assessments. All variable pay is tied to verifiable revenue and account data. You deliver, you earn.
  • Know Exactly What Success Looks Like. First 90 days: onboard on products and systems, contact every active partner, begin reactivation outreach. First 6 months: improve ordering rates, sign first new accounts. First year: fleet health trending up, meaningful new door count from accounts you opened.

What You'll Need

  • 5-8 years of experience in territory management, account management, or field sales in a B2B or B2B2C environment
  • Demonstrated track record of opening new accounts, not just managing existing relationships. The ability to prospect, pitch, and close is non-negotiable
  • Experience managing a high volume of concurrent account touchpoints across both retention and acquisition functions
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort working with project management tools (Asana preferred), e-commerce platforms, and CRM systems
  • Willingness to travel as needed, estimated 20-30% (subject to business need and ROI justification)
  • Self-directed and capable of operating independently in a remote, field-based role

Good-to-Have

  • Experience in the mattress, bedding, or home furnishings industry. Floor knowledge, RSA dynamics, and retail operations fluency significantly accelerate time-to-productivity
  • Existing relationships with independent mattress or furniture retailers
  • Trade show experience (High Point Market, Las Vegas Market, or similar industry events)
  • Experience working with or alongside independent contractor sales teams (1099 reps)

  • Base salary up to $105,000
