Director of Benefits

Full Time | Total Rewards Leadership | Healthcare System

Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Director of Benefits for a senior leadership role within a large healthcare system in Houston, Texas.

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Leads design, implementation, and administration of enterprise-wide benefits programs
  • Oversees vendors, brokers, consultants, and trustees
  • Ensures compliance with IRS and ERISA regulations
  • Drives Total Rewards strategy in partnership with executive leadership

COMPENSATION

  • Salary Range: $160,000 -- $200,000
  • Bonus: 20--30%

SCHEDULE

  • Full-time
  • Hybrid work environment (must be willing to relocate to Houston)

ROLE

  • Design and administer benefit programs including health, welfare, retirement, and wellness initiatives
  • Lead benefits strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and healthcare reform regulations
  • Oversee HRIS integration and benefits systems enhancements
  • Develop metrics and reporting to measure program ROI
  • Manage and develop Benefits team
  • Partner with Compensation, HRIS, and executive leadership on Total Rewards strategy
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR Management, or related discipline REQUIRED
  • 10+ years experience managing benefits operations REQUIRED
  • Experience in healthcare benefits REQUIRED
  • Experience with plan design, implementation, and compliance (health, welfare, retirement) REQUIRED
  • Experience with 401(k), 403(b), pension, and non-qualified plans REQUIRED
  • Experience with COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and healthcare reform REQUIRED
  • HRIS systems experience REQUIRED
  • Strong leadership and team management experience REQUIRED
  • Master's degree preferred
  • CEBS, CBP, or similar certification preferred
