Principal Specialist, Contracts (Remote)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within our Advanced Products & Solutions Strategic Business Unit. This role will closely partner with functional program team members to understand, guide and support performance of contractual requirements and provide contracts knowledge and support in creative contracting solutions to enable achieving program and business goals.

What You Will Do

  • Travel to Raytheon and customer locations as required
  • Support during core working hours of 9 am to 5 pm in the Eastern Time zone
  • Provide support to Request for Proposal assessments, proposal generation, and contract negotiation
  • Provide guidance and support to program team to ensure compliance with internal policies/procedures and the regulatory environment while ensuring business/financial goals are achieved
  • Identify risks, assess performance requirements scope applicability, advise management of contractual rights and obligations, and manage the contracts in the portfolio post-award
  • Support program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, and risk management activities
  • Act as the focal point of contact with the customer for all contractual matters, change management, and driving contractual issues to closure
  • Assist in managing internal and external customer relationships to ensure key customer desires are met
  • Interface with customers during the contract execution phase and advise the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract and offering solutions to mitigate contractual/program risks
  • Compile and analyze data and maintain historical records

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience in contracts administration (i.e. proposal preparation, negotiations, or other contracts support activity)
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFARS) and related government regulations

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with proposals and contract administration of U.S. Government and Direct Commercial Sale sustainment contracts including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and Time & Material (T&M) contract types
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within team environment and with customers to foster trust and drive results
  • Professional presence complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence others
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while delivering timely, high-quality products
  • Demonstrated business acumen with ability to recognize risk elements in business transactions across a diverse portfolio of customers

Remote Work Policy: This position is designated as remote, requiring employees to work primarily from home within the 50 U.S. states. Occasional travel to company sites may be necessary.

Security Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required for access to program/contract information.

Salary Range: 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. Salary offers are based on various factors including experience, location, and qualifications.

Incentive Compensation: Hired applicants may be eligible for annual incentive programs based on individual and company performance.
