Overview

The PA Public Utility Commission (PUC) is seeking an experienced IT Contractor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in VMware and networking systems administration. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of agency-wide network hardware and software.

• Engagement: Long-term contract.
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum of 2 days per week onsite/in-office).

Requirements

The ideal candidate should be capable of working collaboratively between teams while also demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Technical Skills & Experience

• VMware administration (vSphere, vCenter, vSan, NSX, VCF, Log Insight).
• Networking systems administration.
• Administration of physical and virtual servers.
• Operating systems: Microsoft, Redhat, and Linux appliances.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems.
• Systems optimization, patch management, and lifecycle planning.
• Project management and meeting timeline deliverables.
• Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS administration.
• Data backup and recovery.

Soft Skills & Responsibilities

• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to collaborate with peers, teams, and stakeholders.
• Ability to respond promptly to technical, system, and/or emergency issues outside of scheduled work hours, remotely or in person as needed.
• Perform related work as required.
