About the Opportunity
The Help Desk Specialist I role is integral to maintaining the organization's Mac-centric technical environment by providing Tier 1 and 2 IT support. This position supports hardware and software troubleshooting, device management, and user support, ensuring technical teams can operate efficiently. It is key to sustaining seamless technology use and delivering a high level of service within the company.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for macOS and Windows laptops and related applications.
- Manage macOS devices using Jamf Pro and Windows devices with Workspace One, including configuration and updates.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Google Workspace tools such as Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
- Perform wiping, reimaging, and restoring of Mac laptops; experience with cloud backup tools preferred.
- Use Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence) or similar service desk platforms to manage support tasks.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding by provisioning users, setting up laptops, and configuring accounts.
- Maintain and update technical documentation in Jira Service Management and Confluence.
- Participate in regular meetings with U.S.-based IT and Security teams during Pacific Time hours.
- Provide professional support to technical staff including developers, QA engineers, and product teams.
- Identify recurring technical issues and suggest process or automation improvements.
- Manage laptop and peripheral shipping logistics, requiring reliable transportation and proximity to shipping facilities.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of IT support experience, preferably in software or SaaS environments.
- Proficient with macOS and Windows support and device management tools including Jamf Pro and Workspace One.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud backup and restore solutions such as Druva is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of identity management systems like Okta is a plus.
- Strong communication skills; personable, approachable, and solution-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Availability for meetings during Pacific Time business hours.
- Proficiency in English.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- The typical base salary range for this position is $28 to $34 per hour, determined by location, skills, and experience.
