About the Opportunity

The Trading Operations Specialist role is responsible for managing and executing trading operations that support the organization's investment strategies. This position is critical in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of trading activities, collaborating with various teams, and resolving complex transaction issues. The role contributes directly to the effective execution of trading strategies and enhances operational processes to support the organization's investment goals.

Responsibilities

  • Trading Execution & Management: Manage and execute day-to-day trading operations aligned with the firm's core investment strategies.
  • Account Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile brokerage accounts to ensure accurate, timely compliance and financial reporting.
  • Portfolio Maintenance: Support the execution of portfolio model changes, strategic tax-loss harvesting, and account rebalancing.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with portfolio management, investment teams, and traders, while maintaining strong relationships with trading partners and custodians.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and implement operational processes to improve trading efficiency, scalability, and execution effectiveness.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as an internal subject matter expert on managed accounts, brokerage transactions, complex IRA transactions, cost basis tracking, and money movement.
  • Issue Resolution & Compliance: Promptly identify and resolve trading-related settlement or execution issues while staying informed on market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Special Projects: Take on special projects and technical duties as assigned within the investment operations department.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in trading operations or a closely related field within financial services.
  • Technical Systems: Experience with Order Management Systems (OMS) or portfolio management software, with Orion preference.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools, paired with strong analytical capabilities and an extreme attention to detail.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of trading operations, broader financial markets, and standard securities regulations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across remote, fast-paced teams.
  • Remote Connectivity Standards: Must independently maintain a reliable home internet connection meeting minimum standards: 15+ Mbps upload, 50+ Mbps download, and latency under 100ms (including personal troubleshooting or upgrades if required).

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Annual Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000. (Final salary depends on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • Incentives: Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
