The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a Senior People Partner embedded in Trustly's US business, based in New York. You will combine executive partnership with hands-on responsibility for strengthening multi-state People operations. The US workforce spans over 20 states, presenting complexities in compliance, documentation, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, employee relations, and separations. Trustly seeks a senior People Partner to assess, strengthen, and implement practical, scalable improvements.
This role reports to the VP of People Partnering and collaborates closely with US executives and the global People organization.
What You Will Own
- End-to-end ownership of the US People agenda, partnering directly with US executive and functional leadership.
- Strengthening multi-state People operations, including onboarding, documentation, performance cycles, and exits.
- Professionalizing employee relations and separation processes with consistent workflows, templates, and manager guidance.
- Reinforcing compliance readiness across multi-state employment requirements within a remote model.
- Identifying operational gaps and implementing pragmatic, quickly adoptable solutions for leaders.
- Ensuring alignment between US practices and global People standards.
- Supporting organizational change and evolving team structures as the US business scales.
This role requires both senior stakeholder partnership and detailed operational execution.
Who We're Looking For
Trustly seeks a Senior People Partner with operational depth, strong judgment, and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience as a Senior People Partner, Senior HRBP, People Lead, or equivalent in a scaling, tech-led environment.
- Strong knowledge of US multi-state employment considerations within a remote workforce.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing complex employee relations matters and sensitive exits.
- A track record of building or tightening People processes in evolving organizations.
- Confidence in partnering with executive stakeholders and influencing decisions constructively.
- The ability to bring structure without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Location & Contract
- Location: New York, NY (Remote, multi-state US)
- Contract: Permanent, employed directly by Trustly.
- Compensation: $148,000 - $222,000 annually, depending on experience.
