About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Sacramento team. This role focuses on Higher Education projects; candidates must have experience in ground-up and TI estimating for colleges and universities. You will be proficient in alternative delivery methods, including design-bid-build and guaranteed max price.
The Senior Estimator will communicate directly with design teams and owners with minimal supervision, lead project delivery techniques, and mentor staff estimators.
Priorities
- Accurately estimate quantity takeoffs, pricing for all trade work (including mechanical and electrical), and abstracting.
- Create conceptual estimations for upper management.
- Justify and reconcile estimates for third-party consultant projects.
- Prepare budget uploads, buying plans, subcontracts, purchase orders, General Conditions, and project logistics independently.
- Manage hard bid efforts, coordinate constructibility evaluations, and apply indirect expenses.
- Coordinate with operations to develop feasible strategies (schedule, logistics, staffing).
- Provide cost and constructibility input to the design team.
Prerequisites
- Four-year engineering degree or similar technical training/experience.
- 5-10+ years of estimating experience in Higher Education, DSA, and Public Works projects.
- Proven experience leading project teams with minimal monitoring.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- LEED and DBIA certifications are preferred.
- Business unit-identified market sector project experience is preferred.
