Are you a seasoned structural engineer with a strong background in R&D and fabrication with a passion for bringing smiles to faces? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer with proven expertise in full life-cycle structural design and development. This is a pivotal role in both our R&D and fabrication departments, where your work will drive innovation and ensure that our projects exceed the highest safety and design standards.

Our client is a leading company specializing in the design, construction, and management of innovative zip lines, aerial adventure parks, amusement rides, and an ever-growing list of products in these markets. With a focus on safety, creativity, and sustainability, we provide comprehensive solutions to create memorable outdoor experiences.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: Competitive salary of $95,000–$140,000 DOE.
- Schedule: Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Initial onboarding requires 4 days in the office for the first few months.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced catenary analysis for zip line projects, calculating clearances and tensions to produce detailed reports and signed drawings.
- Design structural systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring robust models based on forces from cables, wind, geotech, and other variables.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate mechanical and structural design.
- Develop comprehensive foundation designs and produce structural packages.
- Provide mentorship on GD&T principles from conceptual design to final fabrication.
- Lead quality control efforts for steel, wood, and composite structures.
- Use MathCAD or similar tools for structural load calculations.
- Manage external engineering teams and provide field support.
- Serve as a critical member of the R&D team, overseeing the design-to-production lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/ASTM standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for structural design, including simulation and stress analysis.
- Experience in advanced manufacturing methods (welding, stamping, laser cutting, waterjet cutting).
- Strong project management abilities with a history of leading multiple projects under tight timelines.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain PE certification.
- Familiarity with ASTM F24 Amusement Guidelines and ISO/CE QA standards.
- Advanced fabrication skills, including welding, machining, and knowledge of CNC controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
