Litigation Legal Assistant - Two Positions

Our client, the Denver office of a regional law firm, is looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant with 3+ years of experience to provide proactive legal administrative support to attorneys, primarily in the commercial litigation group. This role requires excellent organization, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, independent thinking, self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and a determination to get the job done.

The Legal Assistant will interact with clients and firm staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate filing and organizational systems for both paper and electronic files, ensuring ease of use and timely retrieval of documents.
  • Assist with database updates and data management.
  • Prepare legal documents, including discovery requests, deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, and other pleadings.
  • Assist with e-discovery, including document review and identification of responsive documents for production, as well as review and categorization of documents received in response to discovery requests.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with courts, clients, and opposing counsel as needed.
  • E-file court documents.
  • Prepare correspondence.
  • Manage busy calendars, prioritizing meeting requests with internal and external groups.
  • Interface with clients and other outside entities regarding assigned matters.
  • Contribute to the overall team effort by collaborating with all members and levels of the firm.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a legal assistant or litigation support role.
  • Background supporting civil litigation matters in a law firm or comparable legal setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic filing procedures and court filing requirements.
  • Strong calendar management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience preparing legal documents and handling discovery-related materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail and document control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented and confidential approach.
