About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Payroll specialist to assist with payroll operations for a financial services organization serving approximately 400 to 600 employees. This Long-term Contract position is fully remote and is offering the opportunity to assist with accurate, compliant payroll processing across multiple states. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on payroll expertise along with Workday knowledge and the ability to maintain efficient payroll administration in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end payroll administration for a multi-state employee population, ensuring timely and accurate processing for roughly 400 to 600 team members.

Manage payroll activities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while maintaining organized records and audit-ready documentation.

Use Workday and ADP Workforce Now to review payroll data, validate employee changes, and resolve processing discrepancies.

Partner with HR, finance, and other internal stakeholders to address payroll questions, support reporting needs, and maintain data accuracy.

Monitor payroll adjustments related to earnings, deductions, taxes, and leave activity to ensure employees are paid correctly.

Investigate and resolve payroll issues promptly, including employee inquiries, calculation errors, and system-related exceptions.

Support payroll continuity during employee leave coverage and assist with related process updates or operational changes as needed.
Requirements
-
Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll operations in a multi-state environment.

Background processing payroll for employee populations exceeding 500 workers.

Hands-on experience with Workday in a payroll capacity.

Proficiency using One Source Vertical for payroll administration.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, deductions, and compliance requirements.

Ability to analyze payroll data carefully and resolve issues with accuracy and discretion.

Previous experience with RSUs (Restricted Stock Units) in a pay role setting.

Strong communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
