Senior Property Accountant

Job Summary

We are assisting our client in Memphis, Tennessee, in their search for an experienced Senior Property Accountant. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on Yardi expertise. The position offers a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two days remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle for assigned properties, ensuring financial records are complete, organized, and accurate.
• Prepare and finalize monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain the general ledger and review account activity to identify variances, resolve discrepancies, and support reporting accuracy.
• Apply accrual-based accounting principles to record transactions and produce reliable monthly financial results.
• Utilize Yardi for processing accounting activities, generating reports, and supporting day-to-day property financial operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial information, address accounting queries, and enhance reporting consistency.
• Review property-level financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with established accounting standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a similar accounting role.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Yardi software within a property accounting context.
• Substantial experience managing month-end close processes from beginning to end.
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting and general ledger maintenance.
• Proficiency in analyzing financial data, reconciling accounts, and accurately resolving issues.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
