Data Science Intern - Summer 2026 (Remote)

RTX is seeking a Data Science Intern to join the Corporate Office of Supply Chain Data Science team. This role involves collaborating with various functions on initiatives to improve business systems and processes across RTX. You will work with internal stakeholders to understand their goals and objectives, enabling data-based decision-making throughout the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Work remotely between 9 AM and 5 PM PST.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand goals and objectives, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Utilize programming skills to explore and analyze data.
  • Identify patterns, trends, nuances, and potential data quality issues within complex datasets.
  • Apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to extract insights.
  • Communicate analysis findings and conclusions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Integrate datasets from diverse business sources into a unified format for analysis.
  • Develop custom queries to address ad-hoc and ongoing customer analytical requests.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics).
  • Must not graduate prior to September 2026.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, and Pandas, with experience using Jupyter Notebooks.
  • Skilled in creating visualizations with Python libraries (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn, plotly).
  • Familiar with statistical principles (e.g., hypothesis testing), the machine learning model lifecycle, and ML libraries (e.g., XGBoost, Sklearn).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience programmatically interfacing with large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience working with Spark or Databricks.
  • Experience creating visualizations in Tableau.

Important Information

  • Location: Remote (U.S. Based)
  • Role Type: Remote. Employees work primarily offsite but may be expected to travel to an RTX facility as needed.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required: Access to information under this program/contract requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Security Clearance: None required.
  • Interview Process: Candidates may be asked to attend select interview steps in-person, regardless of the role's designation.
  • Salary Range: $37,000 - $82,000 USD per year. This is a good faith estimate and actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, location, and skills.
  • Benefits: Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and more, depending on the specific business unit and employment agreement.
  • Incentive Compensation: Eligibility for annual incentive programs may apply, dependent on individual and company performance.
