Software Project Manager, Construction Technology (OpenBuild)
Overview
We're looking for a Software Project Manager to drive delivery of our OpenBuild platform across multiple construction customers.
This is not a "status report and meeting notes" PM role.
You'll be running multiple concurrent projects, working directly with customers, and owning outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, and delivery quality. The work is highly collaborative and coordination-heavy -- but accountability sits with you.
We are a delivery-first, anti-corporate, anti-Silicon Valley team. What does that mean?
- We don't worship process. We don't hide behind Jira boards. We build, we ship, and we fix problems in real time.
- We believe execution beats theory, every time.
- We prioritize practical delivery over unnecessary processes, focusing on outcomes, transparency, and steady progress.
- We deliver real value to our customers; no smoke & mirrors here.
- We are contractor-first, efficiency obsessed
If you like ownership, pace, and getting things done with smart people and the most amazing customers - keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent OpenBuild implementations.
- Lead customer-facing calls, working sessions, and executive updates
- Drive projects across scope, schedule, budget, and risk
- Build and manage project schedules, milestones, and delivery plans
- Identify risks early, drive mitigation, and keep projects on track
- Coordinate across engineering, integrations, and customer stakeholders
- Prepare clear, concise executive-level updates and presentations
- Ensure strong follow-through on actions, decisions, and commitments
- Balance multiple priorities without losing momentum on any single project
- Deliver real value and tangible outcomes to our customers
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means quickly building credibility with customers and the team, taking ownership of projects, and driving them forward with clarity and momentum. You'll manage multiple concurrent customer-facing initiatives, communicate confidently, and keep scope, schedule, and risk in check without constant oversight. Strong performers bring structure where it adds value, adapt where it doesn't, and consistently follow through; earning trust by delivering results.
What We're Looking For
- 5 years experience in software or SaaS project delivery
- Proven ability to own outcomes, not just coordinate tasks
- Strong communication and presentation skills (you'll be in front of customers regularly)
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without dropping the ball
- Excellent time management and prioritization
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- Strong listener who can translate business needs into actionable plans
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts (no coding required)
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Experience with construction technology, ERP, or field execution tools
- Familiarity with platforms like Trimble, Sage, Procore, or similar
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar planning tools
- Exposure to Agile or hybrid delivery models
- PMP certification
Who You Are
- You take initiative and don't wait to be told what to do
- You're comfortable with ambiguity and change
- You can drive a room, not just sit in one
- You're organized, but not rigid
- You care about outcomes more than process
- You can push when needed and build buy-in when it matters
Compensation
- $135K to $160K base salary, depending on experience
- Fully remote within the United States
- Preference for Central or Eastern time zones
- Great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and IRA with company match
