Position Overview

The Arizona Secretary of State is seeking an experienced Application Architect / Low-Code Developer to support a highly visible and time-sensitive application development initiative using the Mendix platform. The selected candidate will assist with requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment, and support of secure, scalable, and user-centered applications.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to critical state technology initiatives while leveraging modern Low-Code / No-Code development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Business Analysts with requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Participate in application design sessions and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze current-state business processes and document workflow requirements.
  • Develop future-state business processes, workflows, and business rules.
  • Configure and develop Mendix applications, including:
    • Microflows
    • Nanoflows
    • Domain Models
    • UI Components
    • Pages
    • Integrations and Data Sources
  • Develop process flow diagrams and application models.
  • Create and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and test cases.
  • Coordinate testing activities with business stakeholders.
  • Perform data validation and quality assurance activities.
  • Support pre-production testing and production readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and resolve defects.
  • Participate in status meetings and Agile ceremonies.
  • Maintain technical, operational, and project documentation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to project leadership.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Low-Code / No-Code development platforms.
  • Application development, testing, and deployment experience.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders and technical teams.
