Purpose and Objective

Ariba, Inc. seeks a Solution Support Engineer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for providing end users and customers with a technology-driven, industry-leading support experience.

Expectations and Tasks

  • Knowledge Management: Create knowledge documents, tools, and processes (WIKI, Knowledge Base Articles, Guided Answers) to support customers and prevent future issues.
  • Collaboration: Maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams within SAP and utilize collaboration channels like swarming and communities.
  • Support Strategy: Actively support SAP's support transformation strategy.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle sensitive escalated customer issues in team environments (swarming) and individual-driven actions. Escalate issues to component owners when necessary and create action plans.
  • Technical Support: Resolve known errors using SAP Notes, Knowledge Base Articles, and documentation. Verify customized entries or hardware parameters.
  • Technical Development: Develop product specialization and deeper technical skills, including code reading, debugging, and creating small corrections.
  • Proactive Support: Test internal systems to prevent future issues on customer systems.

Education and Occupational Experience

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies

Prior experience, internship, or academic coursework must include:

  • Database Systems
  • Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, or JSON
  • VBA programs for MS Office applications
  • Code refactoring, debugging, maintenance, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • QA Testing
  • Testing scalable web-based applications

Compensation Range Transparency

The targeted combined annual compensation range for this position is $136,074 - $137,700. The actual amount offered will be dependent on education, skills, experience, scope of the role, and location. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount dependent on company and personal performance.
