Role Overview
This position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design to support creative, cost-effective solutions for both new and existing facilities. You will work on a wide range of power plant, oil & gas, and industrial facility modifications, including creating calculations, design documents, and specifications. You will also conduct structural analyses involving complex loading conditions such as wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization.
As a structural lead, you will guide junior-level engineers and designers, providing oversight for detailed design phases. You will investigate and solve complex structural issues, perform structural analysis using state-of-the-art tools, and prepare technical specifications and engineering studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations.
- Perform independent reviews of calculations and drawings prepared by others.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely design delivery.
- Conduct on-site structural condition assessments and recommend repairs or modifications.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and participate in "Communities of Practice."
- Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and field verification.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 3 days per week in the office.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) from an ABET-accredited program.
- 8+ years of experience in the design of heavy industrial or oil & gas plants.
- PE license required.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD PRO, RISA, SAP2000, ANSYS).
- Strong knowledge of codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

AI & Automation
We expect leaders to guide teams in using modern tools, including AI and automation, to improve workflows and reduce rework. Experience with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is valued but not required.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary Range: $118,023 - $180,313.
