Sargent & Lundy is a leading engineering and consulting firm in the power industry. The Consulting group provides a range of services to support new utility-scale projects, including solar, wind, gas, and battery energy storage. They also offer independent engineering and due diligence services for lenders and investors, as well as technical, economic, and market studies for grid operators and utilities.
This role is ideal for someone looking to contribute to the growth of renewable energy and battery storage projects. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with significant client interaction.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical consulting and advisory services for utility-scale solar, wind, gas, and battery energy storage projects.
- Conduct independent engineering and due diligence for lenders and investors.
- Perform technical, economic, and market studies.
- Develop planning studies and business cases for various energy stakeholders.
- Lead teams in utilizing modern tools, including automation and AI, to enhance workflows and deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Oversee engineers programming and scripting for task automation.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering (other disciplines considered). Master's degree in engineering or business (MBA) is a plus.
- 10+ years of power industry experience, including one or more of the following:
- Design of utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage projects.
- Independent engineering and due diligence for power projects.
- Power project development.
- Solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage construction management.
- Experience in project finance or financial modeling is a plus.
- Experience with owner's engineering activities during project execution is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience writing technical reports and proposals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.
- Project planning and leadership skills.
- Willingness to lead others in using automation and AI tools.
- Additional learning in Computer Science, AI, or Software Engineering is valued.

Compensation
- Range: $116,620.00 - $179,890.00
- Total compensation includes base salary/hourly rate and benefits.
- May be eligible for a yearly discretionary bonus.
