About the Role

Schaefer is a paid media agency built for food and beverage brands. We identify why people buy first, then execute --- through our proprietary, in-house research, meaning our work is always based on the client's real audience segments and insights, not guesswork.

We're hiring a Senior Paid Media Manager to own the strategy, day-to-day management, and performance of paid media programs across our client roster. This is a hands-on, full-funnel role.

You'll set the channel strategy, build and optimize the campaigns yourself, and be accountable for the numbers, partnering directly with clients and our creative team to turn insight into growth.

We also expect you to be at the forefront of AI, using tools like Claude and GPT to work faster, test more, and do work that would otherwise require a larger team. This isn't optional or aspirational. It's how we operate.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end strategy, management, and performance for paid media campaigns across Meta, TikTok, and retail media networks.
  • Build, launch, and optimize campaigns directly in-platform, from account structure and audience strategy through creative testing and budget pacing.
  • Set and hit performance targets (ROAS, CAC, efficiency, incrementality), and translate results into clear client-facing narratives.
  • Develop full-funnel media plans grounded in audience insight and aligned to each client's revenue goals.
  • Own the delivery and presentation of weekly, biweekly, and monthly performance reports based on each client's cadence, including presenting results and recommendations directly to the client.
  • Partner with creative to brief, test, and iterate on ad creative that drives measurable performance.
  • Lead client communication on paid media, including recaps, recommendations, and strategic direction.
  • Stay ahead of platform changes, measurement shifts, and emerging channels relevant to F&B brands.
  • Use AI tools --- Claude, GPT, and others --- to work at a level that would otherwise require a larger team. You're actively building faster workflows, sharper briefs, and better analyses using AI today. Not waiting to learn it.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED 5+ years of hands-on paid media experience (Meta, TikTok, Retail Media), with a track record of owning strategy and performance independently.
  • REQUIRED Agency experience, or a proven track record working across a high volume of clients or brands simultaneously.
  • REQUIRED Proven performance experience with food & beverage or CPG brands.
  • REQUIRED You're actively using AI tools like Claude, Perplexity, GPT, and others to do more than would otherwise be possible. This isn't a bonus skill. Candidates who aren't already doing this won't be competitive for this role.
  • Deep, current expertise managing campaigns on Meta and TikTok.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with at least one major retail media network, including but not limited to Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, or Instacart.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage yearly budgets of varying sizes, from $100,000 to multi-million-dollar accounts, and be accountable for measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable in platform dashboards, GA4, and pulling a clear story out of the data.
  • You genuinely thrive managing a high volume of clients simultaneously. The breadth motivates you. You don't need a small, tidy book of business to do your best work, you need the scoreboard.
  • You're motivated by performance, not activity. When results are off, it bothers you and you don't wait to be asked to fix it.
  • You work hard. This role carries real accountability and a real client load. That excites you.
  • Strong communication skills- you live in Notion and Slack, and communicate early and often.

Bonus Depth

  • Connected TV (CTV) campaign experience, planning and executing CTV campaigns for DTC or CPG brands.
  • Pinterest Ads experience, particularly for F&B or lifestyle brands.
  • Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Shopping) --- a strong plus for clients with broader channel strategies.
