PRIMARY PURPOSE

To provide excellent, empathetic service to callers regarding claims for multiple lines of business, expediting the claims process, providing detailed claim notes, resolving issues efficiently, and escalating as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary liaison with callers from multiple client accounts in a shared services environment.
  • Assist with questions and solve problems related to claims application and servicing processes according to specifications.
  • Perform claim intake and full-service customer support within regulatory, company, and client expectations.
  • Educate and inform customers about required documentation, timeframes, payment information, and claim status.
  • Educate claimants/callers on client requirements and benefit plans, documenting all details accurately.
  • Accurately enter verbal and written claim information into the appropriate system.
  • Direct customer calls to the appropriate contact or escalate to Service Center Specialist/management.
  • Maintain regular attendance during scheduled work hours.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • One (1) year of customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Inbound call center experience preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and the Windows environment.
  • Must meet minimum typing requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to support multiple clients across communication channels and utilize multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and/or independently.
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
  • Ability to meet all attendance expectations.
