The Opportunity

As Maven continues to scale and innovate in women's and family health, the increasing complexity of our business—spanning multiple growth channels, cross-functional priorities, evolving products, and AI-driven opportunities—requires strategic leadership. We are seeking a Director of Strategy & Operations to guide Maven through this exciting next chapter.

This role is integral to the Office of the CEO, offering broad visibility and impact across all major functions. While the responsibilities will adapt to business needs, the initial 12 months will concentrate on AI Transformation & Organizational Intelligence, in close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams. We are shifting from viewing AI as a supplementary tool to embracing it as a foundational intelligence layer that reshapes organizational structures. This is a business-focused role for an individual with a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and the transformative potential of AI.

This position is ideal for an emerging leader who is immersed in the AI-native world, passionate about organizational transformation, and ready to operate beyond their defined title.

What You'll Do

Lead AI Transformation & Organizational Intelligence

  • Act as Maven's "context engineer," developing and maintaining the knowledge management infrastructure essential for effective AI agents, including documentation, decision logs, and organizational context.
  • Champion the adoption of AI across all teams by making the AI-native approach the most efficient and logical path.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to design systems and workflows that ensure Maven's data is consistently legible, actionable, and integrated with real-time decision-making.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for AI to enhance speed, quality, and efficiency in areas such as clinical operations, sales, product, and member experience, and lead implementation efforts with functional leads.
  • Guide the leadership team in rethinking culture and organizational design for the AI era, focusing on how intelligence can replace traditional coordination layers and defining the optimal resulting structure.

Help Shape Company Priorities

  • Partner with executives to define and drive Maven's key strategic initiatives.
  • Translate company objectives into actionable cross-functional plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Bring structure to ambiguous challenges and propose practical solutions.
  • Support executive decision-making with rigorous analysis, sound judgment, and clear recommendations.

Drive Cross-Functional Execution

  • Lead critical initiatives that involve multiple teams and require significant coordination.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities, remove obstacles, and maintain momentum across functions.
  • Establish operating rhythms, reviews, and forums to ensure team alignment and rapid progress.
  • Facilitate the timely flow of essential information to relevant leaders.

Build for Scale

  • Collaborate with Finance and other leaders on annual planning, resource allocation, and organizational design.
  • Continuously optimize Maven's operational processes as the company grows.

What You'll Bring

  • 4-7 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, product operations, or a high-growth technology environment.
  • A deep and demonstrated passion for AI and its impact on work, including active engagement with the AI discourse and informed opinions on its application.
  • Strong business acumen, with an understanding of systems, incentives, and organizational behavior.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Highly analytical, with comfort in using data, models, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, capable of producing clear, concise documents for senior audiences.
  • A builder's mindset, energized by creating new solutions rather than optimizing existing ones.
  • Low ego, high standards, and a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in knowledge management, internal operations, AI tooling, healthcare, benefits, or complex B2B businesses.

Why This Role?

This is a unique opportunity to influence a leading healthcare company and shape the organization of the future. You will work closely with senior leadership, gain cross-functional visibility, and build innovative solutions. This role offers a significant platform for career growth into broader strategic leadership.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $220,000 - $260,000 per year, plus equity.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including employer-covered health, dental, and insurance; access to Maven's full platform; wellness partnerships; hybrid work model; 16 weeks of paid parental leave; annual professional development stipend; 401K matching. (Note: Benefits are for US-based, full-time employees).

Location & Work Model

  • Work Authorization: Must have active work authorization in the US.
  • Hybrid Model: Primarily based in the New York Metropolitan area, with remote options in San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, and Seattle, WA.
    • New York City Office: 3 days onsite per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
    • Other Hubs (Boston, DC, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco): Monthly "Work Together Days" in office.
