Junior Business Data Analyst (Contract)

Company: Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) Assignment Type: Contract Location: Hybrid (Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Charlotte, NC)

SGA is seeking a Junior Business Data Analyst for a contract assignment with a premier Insurance client. This role supports the Enterprise Data Office, specifically the Corporate Data Services team, focusing on business and data analysis for critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document data and analytics business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Perform data analysis, discovery, and profiling using industry-standard querying tools.
  • Maintain Data Mapping documents and other Data Design artifacts.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and IT stakeholders.
  • Assist with functional testing.
  • Facilitate collaborative working sessions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Understand and help resolve scope-related questions and issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for business data issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Utilize AI tools for data profiling, anomaly detection, and report generation.
  • Design and refine AI prompts to extract insights and automate documentation.
  • Translate business processes into AI requirements.
  • Collaborate on AI-driven enhancements for ETL, metadata management, and data quality.

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in business requirements and/or data analysis within the Insurance industry.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard querying tools (e.g., Snowflake, Toad, SQL, SAS, R, Python, Hive).
  • Experience designing and refining AI prompts and translating business processes into AI requirements.
  • Experience with data warehouse or reporting/analytic projects.
  • Experience working on Agile projects.
  • Strong facilitation, requirements elicitation, and data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a timeline-driven environment.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management in a matrix environment.
