SAP ABAP Developer (Remote)

Requirements

Must have:

• We need a SAP ABAP Developer with strong experience in HR payroll processing, including a solid understanding of payroll calculations and end-to-end process flows.
• We require hands-on knowledge of CATS and related HR time-management integration points.
• We are looking for experience building ABAP reports, function modules, BAPIs, classes, and other custom SAP objects.
• We need practical experience developing OData services with SAP Gateway or ABAP CDS views.
• We value knowledge of CRUD operations and the design of well-structured OData metadata, including entities, associations, and navigation paths.
• We expect the ability to troubleshoot issues using ABAP debugging tools, SAP Gateway logs, and error analysis transactions such as ST22.
• We require experience analyzing and improving ABAP performance for large-volume or long-running processes.
• We are looking for proven collaboration skills working with functional consultants, business analysts, end users, and frontend developers.
• We value strong documentation skills for technical designs, data flows, business logic, and enhancements.

Responsibilities

• We collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and end users to gather and translate business needs into ABAP programs and OData services.
• We design and build custom ABAP developments, including reports, function modules, BAPIs, classes, and related technical objects.
• We develop and maintain OData services through SAP Gateway or ABAP CDS views to provide backend data and functions to frontend applications such as SAP Fiori.
• We implement CRUD functionality within OData services while ensuring the underlying business rules are correctly applied.
• We structure and maintain OData metadata, including entities, associations, and navigation properties, to support efficient data access.
• We test ABAP programs and OData services to confirm expected behavior across different scenarios.
• We investigate and resolve defects and performance concerns using debugging tools, Gateway logs, and SAP error analysis transactions.
• We review and optimize ABAP code to improve runtime efficiency, especially for high-volume or resource-intensive processes.
• We partner with SAP Fiori/UI5 developers to ensure smooth integration between backend services and frontend user experiences.
• We document technical solutions, business logic, data movement, and system enhancements in detail.
