About the Opportunity
A leading, growth-oriented component manufacturer is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Remote Truss Designer to join a highly collaborative and fast-paced team. This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work, with a strong preference for candidates living in the Eastern or Central time zones to align with core business operations.
We are looking for a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running with minimal oversight, delivering accurate, production-ready designs while maintaining a team-first, positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Design component layouts, roof trusses, and floor trusses for high-volume single-family production builds and complex custom residential projects.
- Generate accurate, efficient, and production-ready shop drawings.
- Optimize designs for maximum material efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure exact precision regarding pitches, overhangs, bolt placements, and web alignments.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments, sales teams, and project stakeholders.
- Manage a high-volume, dynamic workflow independently and meet critical project deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated truss design experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on experience using MiTek Structure is strictly required. Familiarity with MiTek Management is highly preferred.
- Project Background: Proven track record with single-family residential production builds; custom home design experience is a major plus.
- Work Style: Must be a self-starter capable of working independently from a home office with minimal training or ramp-up time.
