Applied AI Engineer -- Autonomous Agents (Remote, Freelance / Project-Based)

Join cutting-edge AI projects focused on training and improving next-generation autonomous agents and LLM systems.

We're looking for experienced engineers to contribute to advanced AI workflow and orchestration projects involving multi-step reasoning, live integrations, backend systems, and real-world agent behaviour.

This is a flexible, remote opportunity suited to engineers interested in project-based AI work alongside existing professional or freelance commitments.

What You'll Work On

  • Design and improve AI agent workflows and orchestration systems
  • Build and evaluate multi-step autonomous task execution
  • Work with backend architectures, APIs, databases, and live tool integrations
  • Analyse complex system behaviours and provide detailed technical feedback
  • Contribute to real-world AI automation and reasoning projects

Ideal Background

  • 2+ years in backend engineering, AI automation, systems engineering, or related fields
  • Strong coding skills in at least two languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, or Java
  • Experience with SQL databases and production-grade architectures
  • Comfortable working with live environments, APIs, and multi-turn workflows
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI agents, orchestration systems, or automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with tools such as Supabase, Gmail APIs, or similar integrations
  • Understanding of persistent memory/session handling
  • Exposure to AI safety, prompt injection risks, or system security concepts
