About the Role
Spotify is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance to join our Finance team. This role will support the evaluation and potential operation of new in-person experiences as Spotify expands beyond digital streaming into physical-world initiatives.
This is a foundational finance position responsible for building investment models, unit economic frameworks, and operational governance for these new ventures. You will collaborate with leadership and business teams to conduct scenario analysis and manage the financial lifecycle of infrastructure and operational investments.
What You'll Do
- Modeling: Spearhead the creation of multi-year financial models for capital-intensive projects, overseeing budgets and long-term recoupment.
- Unit Economics: Partner with the business to define the appropriate "Single Unit" P&L framework. Analyze revenue drivers and cost structures to ensure investments meet target IRR and cash flow.
- Strategic Investment Appraisal: Provide financial partnership and scenario analysis.
- Market Entry Analysis: Collaborate with the business to assess commercial structures and regional economic variables for optimized roadmaps.
- Performance Governance: Develop the reporting infrastructure for new initiatives, translating operations into clear financial narratives for leadership.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the primary finance lead for a diverse team of Spotify operators.
Who You Are
- Experienced Finance Professional: Possess 6 years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Development, or Investment Banking. Prior experience in industries with physical footprints (e.g., Real Estate, Hospitality, Retail, or Entertainment) is highly preferred.
- Sophisticated Modeler: Adept at building dynamic models with complex variables (e.g., construction ramp-ups, negative working capital, lease capitalization) and distilling them into key assumptions.
- Trust Builder: Demonstrate a sharp eye for detail and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Finance and Spotify through clear, data-driven narratives and investment cases.
- Operational Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch in a fast-paced, flat organizational structure.
- Systems Familiarity: Proficient with automated reporting tools (Netsuite/Adaptive, Workday Financials) and interested in leveraging AI for analytical tasks.
Where You'll Be
- This role is based in New York, NY.
- We offer flexibility, with a hybrid model requiring 2-3 days in the office per week.
- Collaboration occurs within the EST time zone.
Compensation & Benefits
- The United States base range for this position is $152,981-$218,544 plus equity.
- Benefits include health insurance, six months of paid parental leave, a 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, and 13 paid flexible holidays.
