Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Business Development Manager role based in Montgomery, AL, with flexibility to work from home part of the time. The Business Development Manager will identify and qualify new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with prospects and existing clients, and manage a pipeline of opportunities through the full sales cycle.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Researching target markets.
- Preparing proposals and presentations.
- Leading client meetings.
- Negotiating commercial terms in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Tracking performance against revenue goals.
- Providing regular forecasts and reports.
- Collaborating with marketing and operations teams to align offerings with client needs.
- Representing the company at industry events, building brand awareness, and gathering market feedback to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Strong business development and sales skills, including prospecting, lead qualification, and closing new business.
- Experience in account management, client relationship building, and delivering high-quality customer service.
- Solid analytical and research abilities to assess markets, identify trends, and develop data-informed growth strategies.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and basic sales reporting, including pipeline management and forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare proposals and deliver compelling presentations.
- Effective negotiation and contract discussion skills with an emphasis on creating mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience in a Business Development, Sales, or similar commercial role preferred; experience in B2B environments is a plus.
