The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Engineer to serve as a cornerstone of a high-performing, multi-market engineering division in the Greater Fort Myers area. This is a high-impact leadership mandate designed for a technical authority who thrives on steering complex building systems projects from their initial sketches to final commissioning. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the architectural landscape across diverse sectors---including aviation, federal, and commercial---while fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional mentorship.

What You'll Do

  • Architect comprehensive mechanical solutions for large-scale building projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle from preliminary design through construction administration.

  • Direct cross-functional project teams, ensuring that all technical deliverables meet rigorous quality standards while staying on schedule and within budget.

  • Champion client relationships by serving as the primary technical consultant and lead liaison, translating complex engineering concepts into actionable project goals.

  • Mentor a dedicated cohort of junior engineers and design staff, accelerating their professional development through active supervision and technical coaching.

  • Synthesize multidisciplinary efforts by collaborating with architects and electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of HVAC and building systems.

  • Validate all designs against modern building codes, industry best practices, and sustainability standards to ensure peak operational performance.

  • Drive project execution for a versatile portfolio that spans education, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial facilities.

What You Bring

  • Credentialed Expertise: You must possess an active Professional Engineer (PE) License (mandatory).

  • Proven Tenure: You offer at least 10--25 years of progressive experience within an Architectural/Engineering (A/E) or MEP consulting firm environment.

  • Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in designing complex mechanical systems, specifically focused on HVAC and integrated building infrastructure.

  • Leadership Acumen: A demonstrated track record of managing project teams and the desire to act as a "true leader" rather than just a technical designer.

  • Full-Lifecycle Experience: Extensive history of taking projects from the conceptual phase through to successful delivery and execution.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to interface with high-level stakeholders and navigate client-facing environments with confidence.

  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
