The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) Human Resources (HR) unit provides centralized direction, consultation, and services to the public, applicants, and employees. We strategically align workforce capabilities with business goals, foster a positive workplace culture, and manage the entire employee lifecycle to maximize performance and retention.

Description Of Job

  • Weekly Hybrid Working Arrangements: Minimum 2 days in-office and maximum 3 days remote work.
  • Location: 3648 W. Princeton Circle, Bldg. #3, Denver, CO 80236.

What You Will Be Doing

You will ensure that HR strategies align with organizational objectives and culture. This role involves providing proactive HR consultation to assigned customers regarding compensation analysis and recommendations.

Duties

Compensation, Planning, and Analysis

  • Make pay recommendations for new hires, promotions, reallocations, demotions, and transfers.
  • Establish a framework for applying compensation rules consistently across CDHS.
  • Manage in-range salary movements, compensation awards, temporary pay differentials, and bonuses.
  • Conduct compression and Equal Pay analyses.
  • Research compensation matters to provide clarity and resolution.
  • Stay informed of rule changes and technical guidance from DPA and CDLE.
  • Participate in the development and modification of compensation policies.

Client Training and Quality Assurance

  • Review compensation requests and maintain data on tracking sheets.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to ensure accuracy in eClearance.
  • Ensure proper document retention.
  • Deliver training to client groups and HR professionals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of experience in highly detailed analytical tasks (compensation, compliance, quality assurance, data analysis, HR, or records management).
  • At least two (2) of those years must include full-time professional experience in Human Resources.

OR

  • A combination of related education and experience totaling at least six (6) years, including two (2) years of full-time professional HR experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR experience in a public-sector environment.
  • Knowledge of compensation administration and wage/salary laws.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to advise senior leadership on compliance insights.
  • Experience interpreting complex technical guidance and employment laws.
  • Experience in data integrity, audits, and synthesizing complex reports.
