Description Of Job

The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provides services used by nearly every citizen of the State. Within the DMV, the Driver Control Section administers motor vehicle statutory requirements affecting driver's privilege, compiles and houses motor vehicle-related data, and provides information to law enforcement, governmental agencies, and the general public.

Duties

The ideal applicant brings their customer service experience and strong attention to detail to ensure comprehensive information exchange in a thorough, professional manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Data entry into databases and spreadsheets;
  • Providing customer service via telephone or in-person to external stakeholders and customers;
  • Translating and clarifying Colorado Motor Vehicle statutes, department administrative procedures, and policy to customers;
  • Determining the effect of statutory law on a driving record to guide customers through division notices, restraints, or licensing issues;
  • Advising customers on fees, documentation, and testing requirements;
  • Instructing customers on acquiring mandatory forms;
  • Managing file retrieval, scanning, and filing of documents.

Remote Work Information

This is a remote position primarily tasked with performing work duties via flex-place (telework) with infrequent on-site visits to 2829 W Howard Place, Denver, CO 80204.

  • Employees are responsible for providing a suitable home office with Internet and secure Wi-Fi.
  • All performance expectations and policy adherence requirements apply to remote work.

Residency Requirement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience Only: Two (2) years of relevant experience in General Clerical and/or Call Center Customer Service work.
  • Education And Experience: A combination of related secondary education (Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, Political Science, or similar) and relevant experience equal to two (2) years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • 2+ years in a complex, high-volume call center.
  • Experience working with sensitive, confidential information.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) candidates preferred.

Conditions Of Employment

  • Must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of tax records/accounts.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and reference check.
  • Must maintain a valid driver license if operating a State-owned vehicle.
