The Division of Human Resources (HR) provides centralized services to the general public, applicants, managers, and employees of the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). We offer consultation on benefit administration, compensation, equity, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, policy development, job analysis, classification, organizational development, and more.

Description Of Job

  • Weekly Hybrid Working Arrangements: Minimum 2 days in-office and maximum 3 days remote work.
  • TERM LIMITED - 3 YEARS

Must be able to report to an office location in one of these three areas:

  • Denver: 3648 W. Princeton Circle, Bldg. #3, Denver, CO 80236
  • Pueblo: 1600 W 24th St, Pueblo, CO 81003
  • Grand Junction: 3199 D Road Bldg. A, Grand Junction, CO 81504

What You Will Be Doing

You will act as an internal consultant, analyzing and recommending human resource solutions for assigned programs. You will guide employee relations concerns, coach agency leaders, and manage E&LR case files.

Summary Of Duties

  • Employee and Labor Relations: Consult with program leaders on personnel matters, interpret laws and rules, and facilitate training.
  • Job Evaluation: Advise clients on position description development, job classification, and organizational restructuring.
  • Talent Acquisition: Administer recruitment processes, manage applicant tracking (NeoGov), and provide guidance to hiring managers.
  • HRIS Management and Other Duties: Provide backup support and manage HRIS personnel action processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in Talent Acquisition, Employee and Labor Relations, and/or Job Evaluation.

OR

  • A combination of related education (Human Resources, Business Administration, etc.) and experience in the specified fields totaling six (6) years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • State of Colorado experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to research trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Conditions Of Employment

  • Must pass the State Personnel Certification Program for Job Evaluation and the Selection Process.
  • Must pass a standard background check.
  • Must be a Colorado resident at the time of application and throughout employment.
  • Travel to facilities and off-site locations is required as needed.
