What You Will Be Doing

You will provide budget analysis and fund management for the agency, which includes but is not limited to developing, controlling, and monitoring the biennial budget; interpreting state laws, regulations, and procedures to ensure compliance; and working directly with internal partners to provide updated budget allocations and projections.

This position is eligible for hybrid remote work, with a work schedule of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. The incumbent will be expected to be physically at the central workplace located at 550 Capitol St. NE in Salem, Oregon, at least six (6) times per year.

What We Are Looking For

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience that included the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system.
  • OR- Five years of professional-level experience in accounting, fiscal auditing, management or program analysis. Experience must have included modeling, forecasting and analyzing fiscal information.
  • OR- Successful completion of the Department of Administrative Services Budget and Management Public Administrative Trainee Program.
  • OR- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting or a related degree may substitute for three years of the required experience.
  • OR- A graduate-level degree in any of the above areas may substitute for four of the five years.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience analyzing complex financial and budget data, identifying trends, and providing recommendations.
  • Knowledge of governmental budgeting principles, public finance practices, and applicable laws.
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and forecasting budgets across multiple funding sources.
  • Skill in interpreting and communicating financial information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and work collaboratively.
