Job description

Steer is seeking a Pipeline Manager to lead day to day oversight, strategy, and performance of the firm's business development pipeline. This role plays a critical function in ensuring visibility, consistency, and data-driven decision-making across all pursuits.

You will serve as the central point of coordination for pipeline tracking, reporting, and forecasting—working closely with leadership, marketing, and Business Unit teams to strengthen pipeline health and improve conversion rates.

How You'll Spend Your Time

Pipeline Oversight & Strategy (approximately 70%)

You will lead the management and optimization of the firm's pipeline, including:

  • Maintaining and improving pipeline tracking systems within CRM to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborating with Key Account Managers to identify and position for priority opportunities with our most important clients
  • Leading pipeline reviews with leadership, including facilitating discussions on priorities, risks, and opportunities
  • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as pipeline value, conversion rates, and win/loss trends
  • Supporting go/no-go decision processes by synthesizing pipeline intelligence and market insights
  • Identifying gaps in pipeline coverage and coordinating with leadership and marketing to address them (e.g., top-of-funnel marketing activities through proposal development and contracting)
  • Managing lead generation processes, including bid aggregators and proactive opportunity identification
  • Coordinating proposal prioritization and resourcing with the Proposal Production Manager
  • Overseeing data integrity, standardization, and reporting across all pipeline stages

Forecasting & Reporting (approximately 30%)

You will support strategic planning and business performance through pipeline insights, including:

  • Producing regular pipeline and revenue forecasts to support executive decision-making
  • Developing dashboards and reports that translate pipeline data into actionable insights
  • Analyzing trends across sectors, clients, and geographies to inform growth strategy
  • Supporting annual and quarterly business planning with pipeline-driven projections

Other

  • Supporting broader sales and marketing team to ensure proper coverage of team responsibilities as required

Requirements

We expect individuals with 4-7 years of experience in business development, CRM management, or sales operations will thrive here. Experience with Insightly a plus but not required. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match 100% of the qualifications.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret pipeline data and translate it into strategic recommendations
  • Process Management: Experience managing systems, workflows, and data consistency across teams
  • Experience with CRMs (Insightly preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Proposal Development a plus
  • Data Integrity: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reliable reporting
  • Communication: Ability to clearly present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-Motivation: Proactive initiative in an autonomous, hybrid in-person/remote environment
