Fund Disbursement Start-up
Location: Remote (US only) - option to work in-office in NYC Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 Base + Equity + Benefits
A recently funded financial technology start-up is hiring a frontend engineer to join their growing team. They are building a platform for money movement, focusing on rapid, secure and flexible fund disbursement for government agencies, non-profits and humanitarian aid organizations. They help their clients issue, manage and distribute Visa-backed physical and virtual reloadable debit cards to individuals in need (people affected by natural disasters, state benefit recipients, survivors of domestic violence, etc.). The product allows organizations to set spending rules (based on both the amount being spent, as well as the merchants it is spent with), monitor transactions and provide audit-ready reports, in line with compliance regulations.
They're looking for a frontend engineer with experience in a fast-paced, start-up environment, working on payments processing, transaction processing, card issuing, fund disbursement or money movement. You will be building and improving the features and interface powering their platform, both from a client perspective - for the enterprises and organizations using their system, as well as from the user side - for the individuals that benefit from it. They are looking for someone with strong frontend experience, building web applications in Vue.js and/or Typescript and who is genuinely excited by their product and mission. The ideal engineer is someone looking to ship real products, that impact real people, having end-to-end ownership over the features they are building, all while being eager to learn quickly, working alongside a small and collaborative team.
Responsibilities:
- Build and ship frontend features for their platform, used by non-profits, government agencies and other organizations to disburse funds as well as for individual receiving those funds.
- Build customer-facing admin tools and cardholder web applications
- Ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience, focusing on usability, accessibility, reliability and performance
- Balance speed and quality when building and shipping, continuously improving the product and features
- Learn from user feedback and iterate it when building new features
- Collaborate with design, product and backend teams and work closely with leadership and CEO
- Have end-to-end ownership over products and features you are building
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience with Vue.js and/or Typescript building frontend applications
- Previous experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Strong experience and understanding of frontend fundamentals, such as component architecture, state management, APIs, etc.
- Experience working on complex, data-heavy frontend applications
- Preferred: Experience with the Vue Composition API and building highly organized and reusable components
- Openness and curiosity to use modern tools and AI and integrate it into workflows to ship faster and more efficiently
- Ability and experience working under tight deadlines, in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to write and debug high-quality, production-ready frontend code
- Strong and proactive communication skills
- Previous experience with payments systems, transaction processing, fund disbursement or money movement
