Position Summary
Sunday Riley is seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Production Designer to support the Creative team in developing production-ready assets across visual merchandising, marketing, digital, print, and brand initiatives. While visual merchandising production is a significant component of this role, it is not the sole focus. This position also serves as a key production partner for the broader Creative team by preparing final production files, retouching imagery, upscaling assets, adapting creative for multiple formats, and ensuring artwork is accurate and production-ready across all channels.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience translating creative concepts into polished, production-ready files and realistic 3D visualizations. They are equally comfortable building retail environments in SketchUp, preparing print production artwork, retouching photography, resizing and versioning assets, managing organized file systems, and collaborating with designers, marketers, and external vendors to deliver high-quality creative work.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary production design resource for the Creative team, supporting a wide variety of print, digital, retail, visual merchandising, event, and marketing deliverables.
- Prepare, package, and finalize production-ready files for creative projects across multiple channels while maintaining Sunday Riley brand standards and technical accuracy.
- Retouch photography, clean up assets, upscale imagery, perform color correction, and optimize creative files for print, digital, retail, and presentation use.
- Resize, adapt, and version creative assets for multiple retailers, channels, formats, campaigns, markets, and marketing needs.
- Assist the Creative team with production support for campaigns, presentations, social assets, email graphics, packaging updates, sales materials, event assets, and other creative initiatives as needed.
- Develop production-ready artwork for permanent retail fixtures, gondolas, endcaps, towers, tester units, merchandising displays, promotional installations, and other creative projects.
- Create accurate SketchUp models and high-quality 3D renderings to visualize retail fixtures, store environments, window displays, and merchandising concepts.
- Produce technical layouts, elevations, and presentation renderings for internal reviews, retailer approvals, and fabrication partners.
- Partner with the Creative Director to translate creative concepts into manufacturable retail assets and final production files.
- Design and prepare artwork for quarterly events, including signage, branded collateral, event graphics, environmental branding, and display materials.
- Develop creative for seasonal windows, pop-ups, promotional displays, in-store animations, and experiential retail activations.
- Prepare print-ready mechanicals and final production files that meet retailer specifications, fabrication requirements, and production standards.
- Collaborate with Trade Marketing and Project Management to execute seasonal launches and retailer-specific merchandising programs.
- Adapt artwork for domestic and international retail partners, including language, regional, format, and production modifications.
- Review production proofs, dielines, color proofs, vendor samples, and final files to ensure accuracy prior to manufacturing, release, or distribution.
- Maintain organized production files, version control, linked assets, artwork archives, and creative file libraries.
- Coordinate with external fabricators, printers, retouchers, production vendors, and other creative partners.
- Assist with store surveys, retail photography reviews, merchandising audits, competitive retail research, and creative asset organization.
- Stay current on retail design trends, fabrication techniques, image production tools, sustainable materials, and visual merchandising best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional design experience, including production design, retail production, visual merchandising, environmental graphics, or creative production support.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Advanced image retouching and photo editing skills in Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience preparing production files for both print and digital marketing channels.
- Strong understanding of image optimization, resolution management, file preparation, prepress standards, and artwork quality control.
- Advanced proficiency in SketchUp with experience creating production models and presentation-quality 3D renderings.
- Experience with rendering software such as V-Ray, Enscape, or similar visualization tools preferred.
- Strong understanding of retail fixture construction, fabrication methods, print production, and material specifications.
- Experience creating production-ready mechanical artwork, dielines, large-format graphics, and final files.

- Beauty, skincare, cosmetics, luxury retail, or CPG industry experience strongly preferred.
