About The Role

The Healthcare Financial Informatics Business Analyst II at Emory Healthcare plays a critical role in bridging clinical, financial, and technical teams to optimize healthcare systems and workflows. This remote position requires residing in one of the specified states and involves managing project coordination, analyzing system requests, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. The analyst will focus on enhancing clinical and revenue cycle workflows, particularly in areas such as registration, authorizations, and scheduling within Epic Revenue Cycle systems. The role demands a deep understanding of healthcare workflows, data mining, and reporting tools like Power BI to support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of clinical, financial, and technical expertise to drive system improvements that align with organizational goals and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in informatics, IT, healthcare, business, or a related field OR an Associate's degree with extensive experience.
  • Completion of Epic certification and/or badges within the first 12 months of employment or with managerial approval.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6 years with an Associate's degree in data analysis, project coordination, and clinical/financial workflow assessment.
  • Proficiency in clinical application assessment and workflow design, with the ability to connect clinical processes to financial outcomes.
  • Experience with Epic Revenue Cycle workflows, including registration, authorizations, and scheduling (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualization/reporting tools (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independently oversee and manage enhancement requests for clinical and business units, ensuring timely review and implementation aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Assess, catalog, and prioritize new system requests by analyzing their feasibility, relevance, and potential impact on clinical and financial workflows.
  • Gather and analyze data from clinical and financial systems to support request prioritization, including running reports and presenting findings to leadership.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clinical, financial, and technical teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in the design of solutions for new system requests and define future state workflows, ensuring alignment with clinical and organizational needs.
  • Lead or support the implementation of system enhancements, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption to end-users.
  • Continuously review and improve clinical systems by gathering end-user feedback, monitoring performance, and advocating for necessary changes.
  • Research industry trends and innovative technologies to recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for workflow optimization.
