About The Role

Makai Labs is seeking a talented and highly adaptable Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting multiple phases of client engagement, from initial discovery to post-launch support. Your primary responsibilities will include understanding clients' current workflows through detailed interviews and documentation, supporting the engineering team in analyzing existing IT infrastructure, and assisting in the development of prototypes that align with the clients' business needs. You will play a pivotal role in designing solutions, conducting testing, and refining features based on user feedback. As a key liaison, you will facilitate communication between clients, engineers, designers, and product managers, ensuring that project goals are met efficiently and effectively. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth, especially for individuals aspiring to transition into product management roles, as you will gain hands-on experience in product lifecycle management, client engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, financial analyst, or computer science-related role
  • Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project management and collaboration tools within an Agile environment
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Experience with product lifecycle management processes and tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Curiosity and interest in emerging technologies such as SaaS, AI, and ML projects

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand the user journey of clients, creating detailed process flows to identify improvement opportunities
  • Document current workflows, systems, and data into comprehensive process diagrams and specifications
  • Support the engineering team in understanding clients' IT infrastructure and existing technology stacks
  • Assist in building prototypes that align with the early vision of client solutions
  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to develop and refine product features and ideas
  • Lead client meetings to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on project deliverables
  • Create functional specifications covering all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Develop and execute testing plans to evaluate feature performance against business KPIs
  • Communicate complex issues clearly, providing actionable insights to internal teams and clients
  • Support the deployment and training of new users, capturing feedback for continuous improvement
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, including ad-hoc requests, to meet project deadlines
  • Contribute to maintaining a living roadmap for ongoing product enhancements and support
