About The Role

We are seeking a talented Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team in a hybrid role based in San Francisco, which combines in-office and remote work. In this position, you will work closely with our team at Engenious as well as embedded within a leading client organization that develops products used on a global scale. Your primary focus will be on developing AI-driven features that support users throughout their writing and learning journeys, including drafting, citations, AI transparency, and plagiarism detection. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of frontend development and cutting-edge AI technologies, actively contributing to the creation of intelligent, user-friendly systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams comprising product managers, designers, AI specialists, and client-side engineers to deliver high-impact solutions that enhance user experience and system performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in frontend development
• Proficiency with modern web technologies such as React.js, Next.js, Vite, and Nx
• Strong expertise in Typescript
• Solid understanding of algorithms and system design principles
• Experience building and scaling production systems
• Proven ability to debug complex systems effectively
• Strong product mindset with a focus on user experience
• Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire (visa sponsorship not available)

Responsibilities

• Contribute to end-to-end feature development on the frontend, ensuring high-quality user experiences in production environments
• Design and develop clean, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces
• Integrate AI-powered features into product workflows, including systems for AI transparency and authorship clarity
• Implement citation, attribution workflows, and plagiarism detection functionalities
• Work with large language model (LLM)-based systems and AI-driven services to enhance product capabilities
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and architecture to support scalable solutions
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and AI teams from both Engenious and the client organization
• Participate in technical decision-making and establish engineering standards
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development initiatives
