We are seeking a seasoned Senior IT Project Manager to lead a high-priority, 8--10 month initiative focused on federal and state mandate compliance. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in accordance with Tennessee S.B. 2012 and federal interoperability rules. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical PM who understands the plumbing of healthcare data---specifically FHIR standards, 837 claims formats, and EDI---and can bridge the gap between legislative requirements and technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Mandate Execution: Lead the technical roadmap for compliance with TN S.B. 2012, ensuring all self-funded plans meet API requirements for Payer-to-Payer, Patient, Provider, Prior Authorizations, and Provider Directories.
- Technical Delivery: Manage the full project lifecycle for data integration, EDI workflows, and DevOps-led development cycles.
- Systems Integration: Oversee the transition and formatting of claims systems using FHIR and 837 transaction sets.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between legal/compliance teams and technical squads (DevOps, Data Engineers, and Developers).
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential bottlenecks in API maintenance and data mapping early to ensure the project remains on its 8--10 month trajectory.
Required Qualifications
- Industry Expertise: 7+ years of IT Project Management experience specifically within the Insurance, Healthcare, or Benefit Plan space.
- Deep Technical Knowledge: Proven experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and 837 claims formatting.
- Data & DevOps Fluency: Strong background in managing projects involving complex data migrations, EDI, and DevOps environments.
- Regulatory Savvy: Familiarity with CMS Interoperability rules and state-level insurance codes (experience with TN S.B. 2012 is a significant plus).
- Project Precision: Experience managing mid-to-long-term contracts (8--12 months) with strict compliance deadlines.
Technical Environment
- Standards: FHIR, EDI 837, API-led Connectivity.
- Focus Areas: Payer-to-Payer data exchange, Provider Directories, Prior Authorization automation.
- Methodology: Agile/DevOps.
