Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Market Access & Health Economics (US) leads the strategy for coverage, coding, and reimbursement, as well as payor relations that result in the adoption of the company's products and solutions. This leadership position plays a key role in defining health economic models in close cooperation with market access partners for other regions to ensure consistency. The role is accountable for the impact of market access within their assigned geography, working with both public and commercial payors (national and regional).

Duties and Responsibilities

Market Access Strategy

  • Leads all aspects of Market Access actions in North America.
  • Works cross-functionally with Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Governmental Affairs, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Regional Marketing colleagues.
  • Supports commercial teams with customer reimbursement, coverage, or health economics-related questions.
  • Acts as a regional reimbursement expert, responding to internal inquiries and creating materials for various internal groups.
  • Identifies drivers and barriers for market access and executes plans to address needs.
  • Leverages health economics expertise to deliver the economic value proposition to physicians, clinicians, payors, and health care professionals.
  • Develops payor information materials and leads all interactions with payors within North America.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in market access and reimbursement; provides internal and external information on health economics, pricing, and reimbursement.
  • Identifies and manages opportunities for health economic publications (posters, talks, and full publications).
  • Represents the company on relevant working groups and builds relationships with key clinical and outcomes thought leaders.

Health Economic Modelling

  • Develops health economic models to assess cost-effectiveness and budget impact in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate economic insights into product value strategies.
  • Ensures models align with current industry standards and payor expectations.
  • Provides training and guidance on health economic principles to internal stakeholders.
  • Leverages advanced data analytics to support evidence-based decision-making.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

  • Master's degree required; PhD in health economics preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of market access experience in the US medical device industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry preferred.
  • Extensive experience with reimbursement, US payor environment, and US health policy.
  • Experience owning the market access role during a product launch in the US market.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Experience in immunology, hematology, and therapeutic apheresis is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong health economics expertise, including economic modeling and value dossiers.
  • Ability to work self-directed and as part of a global team.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to creatively problem-solve.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Up to 30% travel, including international travel, is required.
