Business Analyst / Quality Assurance (BA/QA) -- Hybrid

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly versatile Business Analyst / Quality Assurance (BA/QA) professional who brings a balanced blend of analytical and testing expertise. This hybrid role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders, developers, and end users to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance (50%)

• Develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, test cases, and scripts to ensure full test coverage.
• Execute functional, integration, and regression testing based on documented cases.
• Validate that applications meet business requirements and user acceptance criteria.
• Conduct and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with stakeholders.
• Identify, document, and track defects, performance issues, and usability concerns.
• Collaborate with development teams to guide implementation aligned with requirements.

Business Analysis (30%)

• Gather, analyze, and document business needs, processes, and functional requirements.
• Perform gap analysis (current "as-is" vs future "to-be" states).
• Create and maintain use cases (standard, alternate, and exception flows).
• Define and document user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate communication across stakeholders and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Translate business objectives into actionable technical requirements.

Process Improvement & Automation (20%)

• Define and document BA and QA standards, processes, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
• Evaluate and recommend test automation candidates.
• Design and document test flows, data dependencies, and automation frameworks.
• Implement automation using approved tools where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Windows Server environments
• Solid understanding of SDLC (Agile -- Scrum, Kanban)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Visual Studio / TFS / VSTS (Azure DevOps)
  • STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
  • .NET applications and ETL processes
  • SQL Server (2008 R2 & 2016)
  • SSIS / SSRS
• Deep expertise in backend/database testing, including:
  • Indexes, triggers, stored procedures, packages
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with API testing
• Exposure to test automation frameworks and tools
