What You Will Be Doing

  • Handle insurance coverage defense litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Manage first-party and third-party personal auto insurance claims.
  • Defend and litigate PIP-related matters.
  • Handle coverage disputes involving:
    • BI claims
    • UM/UIM claims
    • Auto physical damage
    • Rescission
    • Order of priority issues
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions in limine and other litigation motions.
  • Conduct trials through verdict.
  • Present and cross-examine expert and lay witnesses.
  • Independently manage a full caseload.
  • Work closely with litigation support staff.
  • Operate efficiently in a paperless electronic litigation environment.

Experience You Will Need

  • Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Mandatory experience in PIP insurance defense litigation.
  • Strong insurance coverage defense background.
  • Experience handling first-party and/or third-party personal auto insurance claims.
  • Trial experience through verdict required.
  • Strong deposition and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey discovery rules, trial procedures, and substantive insurance law.
  • Experience handling coverage matters involving rescission and order of priority.
  • Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience managing litigation independently.
  • Comfortable using litigation technology and courtroom presentation tools.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing.
