We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented individual to join our Security team. If you are seeking to gain experience and exposure in the cyber security field and general business, this position provides the perfect opportunity!

As an IT Intern--Software Engineer, you will be mentored by subject matter experts on responsibilities such as application design and development. You will participate in team initiatives and projects using Kanban agile methodology to help manage Jira's, as well as maintaining team documentation.

This remote internship has scheduling flexibility but has a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week. The hourly compensation is $19.00. This position can be worked remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to complete at least 20+ working hours between Monday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CST
  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, programming, business or related fields
  • Two or more semesters of related technology coursework

Other Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and React
  • Basic knowledge of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) & SQL
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with development tools and environments including Linux (CLI/VM), Git repositories, Jenkins, Postman, IDEs, Windows & Linux OS, and Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge or exposure to tools such as TOX, Bandit, Sonar, Ansible, OpenShift, or Secret Server is a plus, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
