Overview
We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support a large-scale infrastructure modernization initiative. This role focuses on transitioning legacy systems into a modern, cloud-based environment while ensuring stability, performance, and long-term scalability.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in complex enterprise environments, supporting critical systems, and contributing to cloud transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux server environments (Red Hat and SUSE)
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and software deployments
- Manage and support infrastructure hosting enterprise applications in Linux environments
- Provide operational support for platforms that enable legacy application workloads to run in modern systems
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Document system configurations, processes, and environment details
- Support cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) and ongoing migration activities
- Participate in knowledge transfer and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Assist with transition from project-based work to steady-state operations
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Linux system administration experience (Red Hat and/or SUSE)
- Strong command-line experience and system-level troubleshooting skills
- Hands-on experience with patch management and infrastructure maintenance
- Experience supporting enterprise application platforms in Linux environments
- Working knowledge of AWS and managing Linux workloads in the cloud
- Strong documentation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience supporting legacy systems or modernization initiatives
- Familiarity with COBOL-based environments or mainframe-related technologies
- Exposure to data warehousing, reporting systems, or enterprise applications
- Experience with database platforms such as DB2 or Teradata
- Experience in large-scale system migrations (on-prem to cloud)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
