QA Engineer

Are you passionate about quality engineering and building modern, high-performing web applications? We're looking for a QA Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves driving quality from the ground up using automation-first and shift-left practices.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale transformation initiative, helping deliver seamless user experiences across complex workflows, identity systems, and modern web platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Design and execute comprehensive test strategies across UI, API, and end-to-end workflows
  • Build and maintain automated test suites (UI + API) to ensure scalable, reliable testing
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and rapid feedback
  • Perform in-sprint (shift-left) QA, including smoke, regression, and build validation testing
  • Validate authentication and identity flows (SSO, MFA, login, migration scenarios)
  • Ensure strong test coverage across multiple user journeys and edge cases
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to:
    • Clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria
    • Drive defect triage, resolution, and continuous improvement
    • Support release readiness and QA sign-offs in staging environments

What You Bring

  • 5-8+ years of QA engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Test automation frameworks (UI + API)
    • API testing tools
    • CI/CD integration for automated testing and reporting
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with a shift-left testing mindset
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Web application testing (React-based UI preferred)
    • Backend/API validation (Node.js, microservices)
    • Test data management and environment coordination
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Authentication (SSO, OAuth, MFA, token-based systems)
    • Regression testing strategies and defect tracking

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Newport Beach, CA. This is a fully remote position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54.00/hr.
