Remote Ontologist

Requirements

Must have:

• Experience designing and delivering ontologies, taxonomies, or knowledge graphs
• Strong command of semantic web technologies, including OWL, RDF, and related standards
• Background in data architecture, solution architecture, and data integration programs
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ontologies and knowledge graphs using established ontology frameworks
• Work closely with project managers, data analysts, and subject matter experts to define needs, validate structures, and capture domain expertise
• Apply semantic web standards and tools such as OWL and RDF to develop scalable ontology solutions
• Connect ontologies with existing systems and databases by creating mappings that improve interoperability
• Produce clear documentation for ontology models, frameworks, and workflows, and train internal teams on best practices
• Manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables to keep projects on track and aligned with quality expectations
