Description
The Data Architect role goes beyond traditional data architecture. This individual operates with a strong product-oriented mindset, shaping scalable, trusted, and business-aligned data capabilities that enable AI, analytics, operational intelligence, and customer-facing digital solutions. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, engineering, analytics, and digital product teams to define enterprise data strategies across supply chain, transportation, commercial technology, and customer platforms. The focus is on architecture, strategy, and enablement, not hands-on engineering. This position is critical to enabling data-driven innovation across Sysco's digital ecosystem, including customer platforms, routing and transportation systems, merchandising analytics, and enterprise operational platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience implementing product-centric data ownership models and enterprise data product strategies.
- Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with orchestration, transformation, and modeling frameworks such as Airflow and dbt.
- Experience supporting streaming and real-time operational architectures using Kafka, Pub/Sub, Spark, or Flink.
- Background supporting large-scale operational, logistics, retail, distribution, or supply chain environments preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95.00 - $120.00/hr.
