Epic Beacon Implementation Manager (Oncology Applications)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Epic Beacon Implementation Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Epic Beacon initiatives across our oncology programs. This role is ideal for a former or current Epic Beacon Analyst who has moved into formal project leadership and understands oncology workflows at both a strategic and operational level.
The Implementation Manager will serve as the primary owner of Beacon‑related project delivery---partnering with clinical leadership, IT, and executive stakeholders to ensure Beacon solutions are implemented on time, within scope, and aligned with best practices and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Project Leadership
- Lead end‑to‑end Epic Beacon implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
- Own project planning, scope definition, timelines, dependencies, and resource coordination
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, RAID logs, status reports, and executive communications
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including:
- Beacon, Ambulatory, Willow, and Cadence analysts
- Oncology clinicians, pharmacists, and operational leaders
- Training, testing, and change management teams
- Proactively identify risks and issues, drive mitigation strategies, and escalate as appropriate
- Ensure projects adhere to Epic implementation methodology and internal governance standards
Beacon Subject Matter Leadership
- Provide Beacon expertise and guidance to analyst teams throughout the build and implementation lifecycle
- Review and validate Beacon design decisions, workflows, and configurations to ensure:
- Oncology safety and compliance
- Alignment with operational and clinical needs
- Consistency with Epic best practices
- Translate clinical oncology requirements into project deliverables and technical direction
- Serve as a trusted advisor to oncology leadership on Epic Beacon capabilities and roadmap planning
Stakeholder & Change Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for Beacon project stakeholders
- Facilitate governance sessions, design reviews, and decision‑making forums
- Partner with operational and clinical leaders to support adoption, readiness, and long‑term sustainability
- Align Beacon initiatives with broader ambulatory and enterprise Epic strategies
Team & Delivery Oversight
- Provide day‑to‑day direction and mentorship to Beacon analysts and project team members
- Support resource planning and workload balancing across concurrent initiatives
- Ensure high‑quality deliverables across build, testing, training, and go‑live support phases
- Contribute to post‑go‑live optimization planning and implementation
Required Qualifications
- Epic Beacon Certification
- Prior hands‑on experience as an Epic Beacon Analyst (build, implementation, or optimization)
- 5+ years of Epic application experience, with demonstrated leadership or project management responsibility
- Proven experience leading Epic implementations or large oncology initiatives
- Strong understanding of oncology workflows, including infusion, treatment planning, and outpatient oncology operations
- Experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects
- Excellent communication, organization, and executive‑level presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic Ambulatory, Willow, or Cadence experience
- Formal project management experience (PMO environment, Agile, or hybrid delivery models)
- PMI, PMP, or similar project management certification
- Experience supporting cancer centers or integrated oncology programs
- Clinical experience (RN, pharmacist, or oncology operations experience)

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $115.00/hr.
